Planning Commission

The Halifax Township Planning Commission met on October 2, 2017, for a brief session lasting just 20 minutes. Four of five members were present — Flo Mallonee, Dwight Hoffman, Fred Ford, and Randy Paul — with Chad Lebo absent. Solicitor Bruce Warshawsky and Engineer Frank Gally of K & W Engineering also attended. The sole substantive agenda item was a land development plan for a medical building addition on South River Road.

• Medical building addition on South River Road recommended for approval (4-0): The commission unanimously recommended approval of the D & C Realty plan for a medical building addition, with several waivers and conditions attached.
• Preliminary plan and sidewalk waivers granted: The commission waived the Preliminary Plan requirement (Section 404) and the curb-and-sidewalk requirement (Section 606), with the sidewalk waiver conditioned on placement of a standard note acceptable to Halifax Township.
• Financial security and engineering conditions required: Approval was conditioned on D & C Realty posting financial security for the Erosion & Sedimentation Plan and providing a proper bond with engineer and surveyor seals and signatures.
• County contour comment must be addressed: Per Dauphin County comment Section 407.1.a.vii, the plan must be updated to show contours at two-foot intervals or less.
• Farhat subdivision — no action taken: The Ameer & Taryn Farhat Land Development Plan/Subdivision was listed under old business but received no action at this meeting.
