Planning Commission

The Halifax Township Planning Commission met on April 2, 2018, with members Flo Mallonee, Randy Paul, and Dwight Hoffman present; Fred Ford and Chad Lebo were absent. Township Engineer Tom Wilson and Solicitor Bruce Warshawsky also attended. The brief session covered ongoing policy work on private roads and stormwater submissions, along with a sketch plan review for a proposed retail redevelopment at the Lisi Shell Station.

• Private roads: Solicitor Bruce Warshawsky reported that the Board of Supervisors took no action on private roads in 2017 and said he will bring the matter to the Board at their next meeting.
• Submission process changes: Warshawsky has reviewed the Planning Commission's application submission process and plans to present revised timeframes at the next PC meeting, including separating stormwater management from the general submission application. Surveyors were identified as the appropriate professionals to certify stormwater management plans.
• Lisi Shell Station sketch plan: Bill Burch presented sketch plans for a new retail store at the Lisi Shell Station. The existing store would be demolished and replaced by a pump station, with the new store set further back on the property. The project would reduce impervious coverage, add parking spaces, and install a new stormwater system. A waiver for impervious coverage will be requested when formal plans are submitted. No change in use is proposed; official plans are expected at the next meeting.
