Planning Commission

The Halifax Township Planning Commission held its regular meeting on March 7, 2022. Chairman Jake Gruver, Co-Chairman Randy Paul, Chad Lebo, and Secretary Dwight Hoffman were present, along with Solicitor Bruce Warshawsky and HRG Engineer Alex Greenly; Flo Mallonee was absent. The session centered on advancing Lake Tobias's land development plan for a new souvenir shop and an early discussion of updating the township's subdivision ordinance.

• Lake Tobias souvenir shop plan moves forward: The commission unanimously approved a waiver of comment 1 of the preliminary plans procedures and then voted 4-0 to recommend conditional approval of the land development plan, contingent on satisfying subdivision comments 2 through 11 and administration comments 1 through 3.
• Camp Hebron cabin improvements: A representative from Camp Hebron presented plans for cabin improvements during public comment. No formal action was taken.
• SALDO update discussion: The commission began discussing how to separate and update the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO), including terminology revisions, a timeline for the work, and escrow requirements. No motions were made; the effort remains in its early stages.
