Planning Commission

The Halifax Township Planning Commission held its regular meeting on February 5, 2024, called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Jake Gruver. Members Randy Paul, Don Hentz, and Dwight Hoffman were present, along with Solicitor Bruce Warshawsky and HRG Inc. Engineer Alex Greenly. The brief, 54-minute session was devoted entirely to land development reviews, with the commission unanimously advancing three separate projects.

• Camp Hebron Cabins — The commission conditionally approved an amended development plan for Camp Hebron (4-0).
• Halifax Commons (U & ME Properties) — SALDO waivers granted — Five waivers of subdivision and land development ordinance requirements were approved to accommodate the Halifax Commons commercial project, covering preliminary plan procedure, horizontal curve standards in the Popeye's parking area, a reduced parking lot setback near the Advanced Auto building, street tree spacing, and driveway intersection angles (4-0).
• Halifax Commons — Conditional plan approval — The Halifax Commons Land Development Plan received conditional approval, subject to resolution of items outlined in HRG Inc.'s Review Letter 3 (dated February 5, 2024), which included more than a dozen subdivision, land development, and administrative comments (4-0).
• Karki/Upreti/Kadariya land development plan accepted — A new land development plan submitted by Hasta B. Karki, Bhim Prasad Upreti, Bhim Prasad Kadariya, and Diya Kadariya was accepted, advancing it to the next stage of review (4-0).
• Stormwater and terminology updates pending — Two standing items — a new stormwater management ordinance and an update to ordinance terminology — had no new activity, with no comments received from the solicitor on either matter.
