Planning Commission

The Halifax Township Planning Commission held its regular monthly meeting on March 4, 2024, with Chairman Jake Gruver presiding and all five members present: Jake Gruver, Randy Paul, Chad Lebo, Don Hentz, and Dwight Hoffman. Solicitor Bruce Warshawsky, HRG Inc. engineer Alex Greenly, and Tri-County Planning Commission representatives Ben Warner and Tanner Stroup also attended. The brief 42-minute session focused on ongoing land development reviews, with no final votes taken on substantive matters.

• Camp Hebron amended plan resolved: The Board of Supervisors had already approved Camp Hebron's amended Land Development Plan on February 12, 2024, closing out this item. Since the original plan was never recorded, Camp Hebron can simply record the amended plan directly.
• Karki/Upreti/Kadariya subdivision tabled: Three waiver requests were discussed for a subdivision involving Hasta B. Karki, Bhim Prasad Upreti, Bhim Prasad Kadariya, and Diya Kadariya. An additional shared driveway waiver and a stormwater management exemption are still needed. The plan was tabled to next month.
• Q-HUT temporary structure inquiry: Ameer Farhat raised questions about placing a Q-HUT on a property. Discussion centered on how the township defines a "temporary structure" — including size limits, duration, and existing impervious surface coverage — but no formal action was taken.
• Stormwater ordinance and terminology updates noted: The solicitor had no new comments on the proposed stormwater management ordinance; updated terminology language was noted as having new comments from the solicitor, though no action was taken on either item.
