Planning Commission

The Halifax Township Planning Commission held its regular meeting on September 4, 2024, with Co-Chair Randy Paul presiding alongside members Don Hentz and Dwight Hoffman. Members Jake Gruver and Chad Lebo were absent, as was Tri-County Planning Commission representative Tanner Stroup. Solicitor Bruce Warshawsky and HRG, Inc. engineer Alex Greenly were also present. The brief, 55-minute session was largely procedural, with most ongoing ordinance work deferred to October.

• Stormwater Management Ordinance on hold — The new stormwater ordinance cannot advance until the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO) is separated out; no timeline was given.
• Three ordinance updates tabled — The Terminology Updates, Sign Ordinance, and Flag Lot Ordinance were all deferred to the October agenda without discussion.
• Hale Land Development deferred — Concerns were raised about the project's stormwater management plans; the item was tabled to October for further review.
• Small projects stormwater provisions under study — Engineer Alex Greenly of HRG, Inc. is reviewing provisions for small projects under the stormwater management framework and will present findings at the October meeting.
