Planning Commission

The Halifax Township Planning Commission met on February 7, 2011, called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman Fred Ford. Randy Paul and Mark Reed were present from the start, with Steve Sipe arriving at approximately 7:15 PM; Bob Artman was absent. Solicitor Bruce Warshawsky and engineer Tom Wilson also attended. The meeting centered on a continuing review of the Gary Lenker land development plan and ongoing updates to the township's subdivision ordinance.

• Lenker Plan Review: Solicitor Bruce Warshawsky presented an overview of the history of the Lenker plan, with Tom Wilson providing additional clarification. No motion was taken, indicating the review remains ongoing.
• Property Line Dispute: During public comment, resident Norma Shearer raised a property line dispute between Gary Lenker and neighbor Mike Sweigard, adding a contested boundary issue to the broader Lenker plan discussion.
• SALDO Update — Steep Slopes: Tom Wilson shared steep slope regulation information gathered from other municipalities as part of the township's effort to update its Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO). Further discussion was deferred to the Planning Commission Workshop Meeting scheduled for February 21.
