SECRETARY/TREASURER REPORT
Supervisors approved paid interim bills and current unpaid bills through March 8, 2021, and approved the minutes from the February 8 and February 22, 2021 meetings. All motions carried 5-0. The financial report was placed on file for audit.
EMC REPORT
The Board approved payment of the Ambulance's Workers Compensation coverage. EMC Tim Neiter reported attending two trainings with the next on April 17. The Fire Department is receiving $50,000 from a gaming monies grant and is working on retention, recruitment, monthly training (ropes, rig, decontamination), and a 20-year apparatus replacement plan.
PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS
The Planning Commission recommended conditional approval of DDGJ's land development application for self-storage units on North River Road. Supervisors approved waivers of SALDO Sections 404, 606, and 607 (Preliminary Plan Procedure, Curbs and Sidewalks) and conditionally approved the plans subject to conditions in the February 22, 2021 Township Engineer's memo, including two dedicated parking spaces. ENGINEER REPORT
Engineer Marc Kurowski covered his report dated March 1, 2021, for services during February. All items were on the agenda. An update on Hershey Road was provided.
SOLICITOR REPORT
Solicitor Bruce Warshawsky submitted his report dated March 5, 2021, for services during February 2021. He noted he has made initial contact with PennDOT regarding the sycamore trees.
ROADMASTER REPORT
Roadmaster Tim Belk reported it is chip seal and paving time; Supervisors will tour the Township to determine which roads need work. He noted complaints about loose chips on Fellowship, Lauren Lane, and Galli Road, and reported that Russell Standard was sending a truck to sweep the loose stones.
FRIENDS OF FORT HALIFAX
Report was submitted with no action items. A meeting in early April was planned at the request of Anna Yelk of the PA Conservancy with Supervisors and Friends of Fort Halifax representatives. The Friends requested mowing of the field north of the building the weeks of April 5 and June 7 for an archaeology dig.
ADMINISTRATIVE
The Township received a dividend check from EMC in the amount of $5,514.34.
OLD BUSINESS
Bill Corsnitz of HARA requested the Township contribute to site plan fees for the soccer fields. He reported attending meetings at Wayne, Jackson, and Reed Townships and Halifax Borough. Supervisors voted 5-0 to donate $2,000 contingent on Wayne Township contributing $500.
Everything is ready for ordinance adoption at next month's meeting.
Supervisor McBurney reached out to Sunbury Borough, who asked him to follow up in the spring after snow season as they had been busy with winter maintenance.
Supervisors voted 5-0 to send a letter to parcel owners along Boyer Street between 2nd Street and Third Street informing them of the Township's intention to mark part of the block on both sides as no parking.
